B&L: Gender Equality Strategy in Science: policies, impact and reference experiences

In this  Breakfast & Learn session  we will learn about the Gender Equality Strategy in Science (EIGEC) , promoted by the  Department of Research and Universities (Generalitat de Catalunya) , its objectives, areas of action and the main advances achieved during the first years of deployment.

In addition, we will learn the results of the interim monitoring report and a diagnosis on the incorporation of the gender perspective into the knowledge system, which includes contributions from more than 80 organizations, including universities, research centers and other agents in the scientific ecosystem.

During the session we will address:

• The Gender Equality Strategy in Science (EIGEC):  its objectives, work areas, governance and inter-institutional coordination.
• Diagnosis and results:  main conclusions of the intermediate monitoring and analysis on gender mainstreaming in more than 80 organizations in the knowledge system.
• Recommendations and future challenges:  key actions to consolidate gender equality policies in science.
• Good practices: we will learn about the CERCA-REMA  program  , a feminist mentoring and leadership initiative aimed at researchers and research managers at CERCA centers.

In charge of:

– Marta Batalla Calavia:  Senior Technician for the Social Impact of Knowledge at the Department of Research and Universities and responsible for the deployment of the Gender Equality Strategy in Science.

– Núria Alcaraz Coca:  head of the Gender and Language Unit of the CERCA Institution Foundation.

The session will end with an open space for questions and conversation, facilitated by the TECSAM Network.
