Thursday, March 3, 2022, at 9 a.m., we celebrate the fifth virtual and free 'Breakfast&Learn' meeting of the TECSAM Network with two members of the Network's MERITT group.

11 February, 2022

One of the strategic axes of the TECSAM network is to work to include gender perspective in research is essential, both to ensure equity and equal opportunities in the world of science and to have results and studies representative of all citizens, including women.

For this reason and coinciding with International Women’s and Girl’s Day in Science, we present what will be next Breakfast laLearn of the TECSAM Network: “Practical Guide: Include gender perspective in research”.

This meeting, which we will be holding on Thursday 3 March at 9:00 p.m., will be held by two members of the Gender Expert Network, Judith Usall and Susana Ochoa, principal researchers of the meritT group (Ethiopotogeny and treatment of serious mental disorders).

They will be accompanied by Mercè Torrentallé, a volunteer and mental health activist from experience, President of the Mental Health Association La Noguera and Vice-President of Obertament, who will bring her first-person perspective.

Usall and Ochoa are actively involved in the SCPiSM Work and Research Group, formed in 2004. In particular, Judith Usall and Rodié coordinates him and Susana Ochoa is one of the founders and members. This group has organized the European Meeting on Women’s Mental Health since 2015: “Psychosis & Gender”, an event in which other MERITT researchers are also involved.

In addition, Usall is a Doctor of Medicine for UB and Master of Studies of Women for UB, serving as the Senior Psychiatrist of the Cornellan CSM. Ochoa is a PhD in Psychology for UB and Master in Mental Health and Clinical Psychology for UB. She is also a graduate in research and market techniques for the UAB.

The meeting will be in virtual format and with free access prior registration in this form.

About the Breakfast&Learn

The Breakfast&Learn is a formative initiative dedicated to innovation, valorization and transfer with a special focus on mental health and technology, led by the TECSAM network with the collaboration of the Catalan mental health cluster, Cluster Salut Mental Catalunya (CSMC). These open meetings are expected to be a monthly space where knowledge is shared and synergies and networking are generated, where the speakers will be guests with expertise in the sector, including administration, research, the private sector, as well as users and families.

The meetings will focus on three major thematic areas: Tools for bringing society and research closer together (innovation, marketing, contact with the private sector, business models, spin offs, empowerment of affected and user people…), tools for protecting research results (intellectual protection, patents, other protection models…), and tools for doing research with clinical research (ethical regulatory aspects, medical devices, digital tools, software…).
