The TECSAM Network incorporates four new research groups as full members. With these new memberships, the TECSAM Network now has 33 member groups from 21 leading Catalan institutions.

The four groups are: “Intervention in Clinical and Health Psychology (2017 SGR 642)”, belonging to the University of Barcelona (UB) and led by Guillem Feixas Viaplana (group 29); the group “Artificial Intelligence for Human Wellbeing AIWELL (2017 SGR 1160)”, from the Open University of Catalonia (UOC) – UOC eHealth Research Center, led by Agata Lapedriza (Group 30); the “Tarragona Mental Health Group (2017 SGR 410)”, of the University Institute for Primary Care Research (IDIAP Jordi Gol), led by G. Enric Aragonés Benaiges (Group 31); and the “Translational Medicine and Decision Sciences Laboratory (Translab) (2017 SGR 1387)” of the University of Girona (UDG) (Faculty of Medicine), directed by Xavier Castells Cervelló (Group 32).

The entry of these four new groups means that up to three institutions now form part of the Network: the University Institute for Primary Care Research (IDIAP Jordi Gol), the University of Girona (UdG), and the Open University of Catalonia (UOC).

The University of Barcelona has also added a new group to the five that have been part of the Network since its creation: Group 6, Human Pose Recovery and Behavior Analysis (HuPBA), led by Sergio Escalera Guerrero; Group 9: Brainlab-Cognitive Neuroscience, led by Carles Escera i Micó; Group 11: Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, led by Josep Lluis Arcos; Group 23: Research Group on Virtual Reality Applications and other new technologies in Clinical and Health Psychology (VR-PSY Lab), led by IP José Gutiérrez Maldonado; and Group 28: Computer Vision and Machine Learning at the Computer Vision Center (CVC) and the University of Barcelona (UB), led by Petia Ivanova Radeva.

The Management Committee of the TECSAM Network has been in charge of evaluating and approving the entry of these new groups into the Network, taking into account criteria such as the quality and trajectory of the groups (validated by accreditation by AGAUR), as well as the fit in the theme and specialization of the TECSAM Network.
