International initiatives

The TECSAM Network has organized an international online training and networking event, in collaboration with EMIL-XR in the first edition (2025) and with Bridge The Gap in the second (2026).

The first edition focused on the business model of Virtual Reality (VR), Extended Reality (XR) and Immersive Reality solutions applied to the healthcare sector. The workshop, led by INVENIAM , offered participants the opportunity to explore the main challenges these innovations face in their market access, as well as strategic recommendations to overcome them.

In the second edition, held in February 2026, participants learned about the three main instruments of the EIC: Pathfinder , aimed at disruptive research in the early stages; Transition , to transform research results into applicable innovations; and Accelerator , to scale startups through combined grant and capital financing.

“Connect & Learn” is an international connection space to share knowledge and experiences, and we will continue to promote it within the Network with new editions in the future. An opportunity to enrich ourselves with knowledge and experiences in the field of digital health.

In May 2024, we welcomed innovation professionals from the regions of Västerbotten and Norrbotten (Sweden): Nils Sandberg, Project Strategist, Head of EU Project Office at Region Västerbotten, Tomas Gustafsson, Innovation Strategist, Head of Innovation Office at Region Västerbotten and Mats Falck Project Leader, Supp ort Office for Life Science and Health at The Innovation Office, Umeå University.

During the visit, collaborations with the TECSAM Network were explored and institutions in the mental health and innovation sector were visited in Catalonia: the Sant Joan de Déu Health Park, the Parc Taulí Hospital, the Clínic Hospital, the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital, the WeMind cluster, La Federació Salut Mental Catalunya, Biocat and ACCIÓ. The main objective was to share success stories, encourage joint research and establish strong links between the two regions to promote innovative projects in mental health.

From the TECSAM Network we organize sessions for international students with the aim of explaining the ecosystem of innovation in mental health, sharing knowledge, promoting innovation and research, and putting Sant Boi on the map as a hub of innovation in mental health.

The first mental health investment forum brought together 5 startups and 4 innovative projects competing in the II Innovation Competition.

The event, held in English, became a key meeting point for national and international investors, as well as startups and projects focused on mental health.
