Design, development of drugs and evaluation of their effects

The research team “Laboratory of Molecular Neuropharmacology, Biophysics and Bioinformatics (LMNBB)” presents expertise in the design, development of drugs in collaboration with different entities. The research is carried out through several approaches. The first is structural, based on molecular dynamics simulations of ligand-receptor complexes. The second is mathematical, including non-equilibrium systems through the time variable (binding kinetics and drug residence time). And, finally, the team also has expertise in the study of the effects of new drugs in different preclinical models of chronic pain (analgesics, anxiolytics and antidepressants), Alzheimer’s, and Lesch-Nyhan disease.
